Product Details

The Dr. Pen A9 microneedling pen is a professional grade device suitable for both clinical and home use. With an in-built battery it can be used in wireless mode when you're away from a power supply, in addition to the standard wired mode for greater overall power output.

Whilst the capital outlay for an automatic microneedling pen is greater than a manual roller, the cartridges are much cheaper, providing savings over the long run.

What Is Microneedling?

In short, microneedling is a form of collagen induction therapy, a factually proven treatment for a wide range of skin conditions ranging from minor skin wrinkles to deep stretch marks. The Dr. Pen can be set from 0.00mm to 2.50mm so can treat a full range of skin issues - now there is no need to buy multiple manual rollers or stamps!

What Skin Conditions Can Microneedling Treat?

Microneedling has been proven to treat a number of different skin problems, such as:

  • Wrinkles
  • Skin tightness
  • Scarring
  • Burns
  • Stretch marks
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Hypopigmentation
  • Sagging skin
  • Sun damage

It's also been used as a method of rejuvenating hair growth and as a means of increasing serum absorption.

Is This Scientifically Proven?

Yes, a number of studies have been done on microneedling over the past few years (and decades even). For instance, check out this study done on stretch marks (stretch marks are also referred to as striae distensae).

Which Cartridge Should I Use?

This depends on what you are trying to achieve. We currently retail 12 Pin, 36 Pin and R Nano cartridges. The 12 pin is best for treating smaller areas, the 36 for larger areas, and the R Nano for serum absorption. You can find the cartridges by clicking here.

Why Are You So Much Cheaper Than Other New Zealand Stores?

As you can see from all of our products, we are priced much lower than the competition. We work on a low margin/high volume model, meaning we buy in bulk and get lower pricing from the factory.

Automatic Derma Pen or Manual Derma Device?

We recommend you try a manual device to begin with, to ensure you are happy with how microneedling works. From there, you can upgrade to a premium automatic device if you're happy with the results.

Usage Instructions:

* Please see the video on this page for a visual representation on how to use this device. In addition, instructions are included below and within the included instruction booklet *

  1. Wash hands.
  2. Sterilize the cartridge prior to use (it is sterile from the factory, but it is safest to repeat this process yourself).
  3. Insert cartridge into the pen and set the desired depth.
  4. Apply serum if you wish, but it's not required.
  5. Glide cartridge across your skin in a circular pattern.
  6. Once finished, remove cartridge and sterilize it again if you plan on reusing it (note that the needles become blunt through use and it is recommended to discard them after one or two uses). Never share the cartridges.

We recommend that you apply a skin rejuvenation cream/serum before, during or after the treatment. You should stick to serums which are not too strong (so no Retin-A). Hyaluronic acid is a safe option.

Change of Mind Returns & Warranty:

If upon receiving your order you are undecided about using it, please do not open the packaging. We can accept returns for products which remain sealed, but, for health reasons anything opened from its sealed packaging cannot be returned (as we cannot resell it). Upon return we will refund your order in full. This applies to change of mind returns.

The device also comes with a one year warranty starting from the date of delivery. In case of a warranty claim we will replace or refund at our expense.

Dr Pen microneedling

It’s much easier to use than a roller. You can adjust the seed & length of the needles. Very good and easy to use. The service from Microneedling NZ was excellent. Free & fast shipping and very well packed. Thanks!
